I had that noise and the part was $30 from Ford. Was really easy to install...was 2 bolts. All you have to do is pull down the glovebox to have access to the actuator. If it is the sound, let me know and I will post pics of where its at. If you turn the temp gauge over to the heat side....you shouldnt get the noise.

Finally had some free time to work on the car, i also have been battling the famous leak and finally found it, had to order a new weatherstrip retainer from ford for the passenger side. I cleaned the throttle body again, the maf sensor and ran some seafoam. I followed the idle re learning procedure as stated in the manual and the car idle much better with ac on. Now i cant even tell when the ac kicks on, i still have a slight vibration with it on, but my idle never drops. I am still going to get the refrigerant levels checked as it does kick on too many times. Other than that doesn't seem to be any major issues.
