The Saleen S/C'd 06 is ALIVE!!!!!!
We did it! Started this project at 4:30 by myself...took an hour break for dinner and a couple beer breaks here and there, had to run to Home Depot for a tap set and a new bolt for the coolant crossover (snapped one off) and then to walmart for coolant and butt connectors.
In all, the installation took me and my buddy (an ASE Ford certified mechanic and currently a mechanic at a very high end hot rod shop in South Florida) a total of 7.5 hrs. We were done at 12:10am.
I went to fire the car up and the battery was dead. I hooked it up to my F-250 diesel and it started up after a few moments. I left it hooked up and the car idled like crap!!! It wouldn't hold an idle to save its life. I disconnected it and it died...alternator problem somewhere I guess. Well, we played with some wires, tightened down a few vacuum tube lines and tried again. It held a charge and idled a LITTLE better.
Took it for a spin and got on it a little bit. Didn't feel that great. I think what happened is there was some air in the fuel lines from the disconnect because once I got back, it idled smoothly at 600rpms, even though its set to 850. I'm going to play with my tuner tomorrow and see if it got the air outta the fuel lines. I'm gonna let it idle out for a half hour or so as well.
Oh and I need to get a smaller sized drive belt. This one was a LITTLE loose and it squeaks like all hell until I'm moving. That might also be hurting boost, so tomorrow i'm going to take it off and get a smaller size.
Anyone know what size belt they're running on their Saleen S/C stang??

Called Brenspeed this morning and they said they were going to re-work the tune and send me another one today. I guess they either forgot about the Hot Rod cams or they need to adjust something because of them. Not too sure, but fingers crossed!! Tighter belt is going on in an hour or so...

I have the base saleen for right now...I already had 350whp though so it should hopefully run more like a stock GT with the upgraded (maybe stage 2) kit.
I didn't take too many pictures throughout the work...just mainly the engine with the top end off and then back together. I did take a video but since i had to jump it with my F-250, all you really hear is the diesel roar and the occasional nasty squeak from the loose belt. I'll get more video's when I find the right sized belt to run on this bad boy!!

Anybody tell me what size belt they run on their setup?? I've got a 1075 and it looks just a TAD too small...still waiting on an extra hand so I can try to loosen the tensioner enough to slide it on...

Lupo222,
Anyone know what size belt they're running on their Saleen S/C stang??
Depends on what pulley you are running on the blower.
3.6 Gates K061080 Brenspeed part number 25-061080
3.4 Gates K061075 Brenspeed part number 25-061075
You can find the Gates on Amazon.com for around $26.00
Good luck with the Saleen. I've been running Saleen Series VI on my 05 since 2006 . 3.6 pulley dyno'd on a Mustang dyno at 450rwhp and 424 tq. That's with a hi flow catted x-pipe and a FRPP throttle body and a Kenne Bell BAP. Good solid combo I think.
Good luck with the setup I am sure that the tune from Brenspeed will get it done for you.

Got the belt on and got it started up and running good, however, it doesn't pull anywhere near the way I thought it would. In fact, my wife and I both agree that in 2nd gear, it still feels like it did before the supercharger! First is a little better, but I mean, it doesn't even spin the tires or anything...very very mild at best.
I'm trying to find a dyno shop around here to get a wideband reading and HP numbers...maybe I was just hoping for more than I got...
Here' s a video (if the link works)...sorry about the commentary...my wife took it lol
First run video
