Wow! The before and after picks look great. A lot of work, but definitely worth it. Looking forward to the other pics!

I had a similar experience... I've found the clear coat on my '05 to be extremely hard. Even using Meguiar's "Ultimate Compound", it still took 4-5 passes for relatively minor correction. Am going to try Meguiars' new microfiber polishing system before resorting to wool tho.

I do not post pic's, but I did almost the same thing with my red '06 GT, but I started with Meguiar's "Ultimate Compound" and a yellow pad, then went with the kit you bought. Finished it off with Meguiar's Tech Wax 2.0 with a white pad. I used 6 2'x2' passes for each product, so it took about 8 hours, but the results were amazing.

man grabber, you bee washing that thing with a ahndfull of rocks? lol

i did my 10 and it took me 2 full days to buff it out and i didn t get everything out, i coudl still see a fe wmarks in some light. thank goodness my boss has only occaisonl small swirls. be sure you are washing correctly and drying correctly and you will see a lot less swirls in teh future. bad wash technique and you will have swirls again in a few months. grit guard, two buckets, microfiber mitt, and i dry most of mine with a blowing dryer for cars and them use a chemical guys woolly mammoth towel.

Looks great! I've spent a good part of today washing, waxing, vacuuming, and polishing small scratches so I hear ya! It's all worth it in the end though and it makes you feel proud

Thanks everyone! I started again this morning around 10 and finished at about 630. I took a long a$$ time but I think it came out pretty damn good for my first time. I can still see some marks here and there in different lighting but all of the major swirls are out and just the little things you expect on a DD are still there. My car had majority of the swirls in it when I got it (my dealer has a car wash =X), but I will admit that I didnt have the best knowledge of detailing when I first got the car but I know a ton more now so I should be swirl free for a while. I did exactly as autogeek.net recommends and did 4-6 overlapping passes on speed 6 for the swirl removal and speed 4 for the finishing glaze. I finished it up with a hand wax with meguiars ultimate wax. It was my first time using that wax and it seems to be pretty good. Here are the ending results with some before and afters

Before

After

Last step (meguiars ultimate wax)
