Looks good...I did mine a couple years ago...I followed these instructions, it is more intimidating than difficult, you can't really screw up the way the plugs are secured in the harness'... check this link out

I used taco bills diy as a guide for removal. Took about 20 minutes per side.

Once removed, I cleaned them with engine degreaser, sanded them with 220 grit, 3 coats of primer, then basecoat.

What type of paint should be used? Would any rattle can work, or should you go with a engine paint ext?

Yes use engine paint...I did 2 coats engine primer, 2 coats Ford blue, and 2 coats of clear...

looks great... Takes more then 20 minutes a side to get em off, too. (unless you have done it many times before) I powercoated mine..

Yeah you're right, maybe 30 per side, but it's much easier following tacobill's instructions.
