Default 07-09 GT500 or 2012 5.0?

My buddy just totaled his 370z, and is looking to get back in a mustang (thank God). He's having trouble deciding between finding a lightly used 07-09 GT500 or buying a 2012 5.0 (premium/track pack).

What do you guys think? Pros and cons of each?

Thanks!

Not knowing a thing at all about your buddy, if he's coming off a 370Z I would expect the 5.0/track pack to be a closer fit.

Does such a thing as a "lightly used 3 to 5 year old GT500" even exist? "Lightly used" by whose definition?

There's plenty under 5k miles. He's even found one with 1k miles on it. That would be lightly used.

07-09 looks better, but then, that's just my opinion.

I'd probably go GT-500. You get exclusivity as well as something with a hell of a lot of horses under the hood and even more available if he starts modding.

tough decision. either one is a great ride.
i'd go with the GT500 bc of the easy blower swap.

I'd go for the GT500. Exclusivity, blower, better looks imo

Got an 08 GT500 last July with 1400 miles on it. Test drove a new 5.0 last year and it was nice but for me the GT500 was the way to go! Look around and drive both, then decide which will do what you want it for! Good Luck!
