Default '06 GT 2ND Spark Plug Change

Just changed the spark plugs for the second time - much less stressful than the 1st! First change was at about 102,000. Now at 187,000. The nickel anti-seize did its job although I did wick with carb cleaner to be safe. Main reason for the thread is how much the electrode can deteriorate in those miles. Not terrible but significant. Hopefully the pic shows it.

Wow. I think I'm more impressed that your GT is at 187,000 and kicking strong. But indeed, even after just 50,000 miles when I swapped in the HT0 plugs I was quite amazed by the shape the stock plugs were in.

Even with the worn plugs, it still ran strong. Haven't driven it yet with the new ones and doubt I'll notice that I even changed them.

Are those the Champion 1 piece plugs? If so, did you use the torque wrench to remove the old ones?
Btw, congrats on the car still running strong after that many miles... Are they all highway?

Mostly highway - they are the oe brand Motorcraft Autolite HT1 - loosened with a torque wrench set at 33 lb-ft. Obviously for any first timer plug removals you better follow the tsb and wick the carb cleaner into the plug threads for about 90 minutes total with 1/8 turns every 20 to 30 min.
