I saw that PAC harness. I got a local shop here says if I bring them the head unit for 80 bucks out the door all parts and labor included. I pointed out the issue with the Shaker system requiring some special attention due to the amps, they said 80 bucks. What do you guys think?

Well I've never paid to have a head unit installed, but if you feel you want them to do it, that isn't a bad price. What is the name of the shop? Do you know anyone who has had work done by them?

Planet Rock, Hanford CA Gonna check out a couple of shops though. I don't know anyone whos gone to that shop, but theres another one I heard about up the road; American Audio. Girlfriend got me the 3200BT, so I should have it soon. I may do it myself, just never done a stereo before

Here is what you need. The first two you can get from Best Buy, Metra Install Kit 99-5807, Metra amplified wire harness 70-5521 and this one, 1.5K ohm carbon film resistor you can get from Radio Shack for $1.19. Looking at around $40 -$50 for everything. Just did my 06 last weekend. Easiest install I ever did.

So I ordered all my needed parts from Crutchfield, gonna try and do this myself, radios here, just waiting on my parts. Will let you guys know how this goes. One final question: Does anyone know if the Current PAC C2R-FRD1 eliminates the HU shutdown at high volume due to over voltage?

Okay, did it, sounds great, and as I suspected, the 3200BT really wakes up the factory system. I used the CR2 FRD1 harness, wired right up to the HU Harness that came with the radio. The only issue is that my Droid 2 Global doesn't seem to play music through the mp3 player mode. Oh well.

FYI Guys, the Overvoltage restart issue with this unit is still in existence...unfortunately. With the Shaker 500 setup if you go above a volume of 30 with a Bass heavy song, the unit will restart. In the PAC harness instruction sheet in tells you how to address it. Crutchfield knows about it also, and told my it's a case by case, not all Shaker setups do it. If you call Crutchfield, they can walk you through the fix.
