The ticking noise could also be debris or piece of gravel that got in the vents somehow. I had a piece of gravel that got stuck in my brakes once and it drove me crazy till i disassembled the brake assembly and i saw the piece fall out

With regards to the stalling issue, i would check the clamps and plumbing and make sure it was tight including the CAI. But it could also be "Egr pressure valve sensor" cause that can cause th car to stall. its not an expensive sensor to replace but it can stall your car if its screwed up.

Well, I tried to be proactive and speak to the owner of the dealership to let him know that I am not pleased with my service... and I felt I got no where. They feel they have done everything they can do about the water situation and say I need to take it to a water specialist or glass specialist.

Alright, I'll begin my rant.

Jenkins & Wynne in Clarksville, TN... Is by far one of the worst customer experiences i've ever had. I was BEYOND patient with them. Their techs are simply idiots, and brutes. If I haven't mentioned it I'll go ahead. How would any of you feel with the tech ripping panels off and just TOSSING them in your leather seat, or car period? Then have the nerve to say "Don't worry, I do this all day long." Though it goes beyond that. Instead of "diagnosing" where the water was coming in from, they just took the liberty to replacing my door seals. $550 approx. Not only that but tell me I can come pick up my car, and when I get there say it's not ready because they broke my emergency brake.

So days go by, I get the car. Driving away and noticed a tear in my leather steering wheel, and upon further inspection dings/scratches on the aluminum spoke. I complain to the dealer, naturally "we didn't do that" but they did the decent thing and replaced it because they were working on both sides of the car and had removed both seats.

So waiting for the steering wheel to come in, no leaking because it wasn't raining, I'm feelin' like all is well. Even let the dealer do a coolant/fuel/oil change. So another $230 invested in them. Then of course the rain comes and trip after trip to the dealer, just for them to do their shoddy patchup work as seen in the pics. Not only that, but the car shut off on me 3 times since my last trip to the dealer. After inspecting around I noticed the intake wasn't on right and tightened it down (remember them working on the fuel service? Yeah... good job.)

Then they just "won't mess with the car anymore" because they can't fix it /aren't qualified to fix it. Telling me I need to have my windshield removed (which can break, but i'll replace it at my expense) Just to see if that "helps" ... wow. Then I noticed the seal in the door wasn't quite right as it stuck out a good 1/4 inch where as the driver's side was hidden. So I figured that out and tucked the seal into the track and "properly installed" it. Maybe that'll cure things, maybe not I guess we'll see when it rains again.

After contacting the dealer owner to tell him of the crappy service, and contacting Ford Customer Service (a laugh, I know..) I am given the same response. "Sorry, we don't know so you got to take it to someone else" .. With as many problems as these cars have you think Ford would train some people up to specialize in this sort of thing but I guess that's too much for a company who has never received bail out money/doing so well for themselves.

I guess I'll just keep a bunch of towels handy, and attempt to repair it myself. If ford can't fix a common issue/known issue/on one of their own vehicles I don't really feel confident throwing money at other businesses just for them to do the same.

Rant over.

Menace, I truly feel for you. I had my own repair shop in the 70's. Back then I could send my techs to the manufactures training schools. Which I did including myself. I was an indepent shop but factory trained. I wonder if they still do that?? BTW there is no excuse for work like experienced. I do hope you get help with this. Try getting ahold of the ford service folks and ask if they have a factory certified shop near you.

Hey JLC41,

Yeah I tried getting a hold of Ford Service. I guess the easiest way for Ford to wash their hands of any mess is simply "not being able to duplicate" the problem. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping it was the improper installation of the weather stripping, but waiting on a good rain to see if it's leaking. We've all experienced dealer issues, and we all know the common problems with these cars. It just sucks that Ford and the Dealers aren't willing to work with their customers and it really irritates the hell out of me, and I'm sure others who have experienced some other types of problems. I remember when I had the plate between the engine/transmission was messed up and would vibrate/rattle and I took it in under warranty and a Ford dealership told me it was engine ping because of my Intake. I mean, seriously... they didn't even look at it, or test it for the TSB. I took it to another dealer and they found out it was indeed the TSB and got it fixed. Customers shouldn't have to go through this type of issue though, the dealer's are just lazy and don't want to touch anything minus $90 oil changes to rip off their customers for "Synthetic fluids" ... It is what it is. At this point I've just given up. For 5 1/2 years I've treated this car as good as I could possibly get. Zaino wash and wax, Synthetic oil changes every 3k miles, and the list goes on. I tried to give it the best I could and it is falling apart regardless. I made the decision that I'm not going to trade it in and basically end up paying for a whole new car again because we all know they will *** rape me if I try to trade it in. It's paid for, it still runs (hasn't stalled since tightening down the intake, fingers crossed) perfectly and I just gotta deal with its other issues.

I appreciate all the help Jama, and JLC and anyone else who has contributed. I still am puzzled by the clicking from the dash when you turn the climate control dials to the various diff settings, A/C, Defrost, etc. I think pulling the dash is inevitable in that situation but I'll have to read up on it.

Hey Menace, have you tried talking with any reputable body & glass shops in your area??
Am not sure if you said you have done that. If you do ask for referrals if you find one that seems to know what your problem is. If they are good they will be happy to give you customers #'s. Makes me want to get back in the repair biss again. Good luck.

Honestly, I wish you the best on the water leak. But as far as the clicking goes in the dash goes, MORE THAN LIKELY, it is a blend door motor. Or as Ford calls them, "actuators". Very common issue among Fords. At my shop, we just replace the recirc door actuator yesterday on an 09 Taurus X. Part was pretty damn cheap too. Like $13 cheap. Usually, they are around $30-40. When trying to narrow down which one it is, turn the vent position **** to each position and wait for a bit. Then hit the recirc button and wait a bit. If it only does it when the recirc button is pushed, thats the one. Yesterdays part was located right behind the glove box door. Super easy to get to.

JLC41, that is what the dealer recommended. Actually they suggested I have the windshield removed/put back in. Which I think is pretty retarded. (And I guess it's not that easy and the windshield has the potential to break and that is obviously not covered) I found the passenger door seal was not properly installed from the dealer, and fixed that. I'm waiting on it to rain here to really check it out and see if it's still leaking. Then I'll try sealing the spots Jama mentioned. I don't have any torx bits so i'll wait like I said. I also think I solved the "car dying" issue, being the intake wasn't securely fastened (Dealer did a fuel service on the car and I guess on the IV drip part they messed with the CAI and didn't fasten it back down properly) It hasn't stalled since I tightened it down.

SCCAGT,
I'll give that a try. Makes sense what you are saying. I didn't think to mess with the A/C and Recirculation buttons. Though I will note that the noise sounds like it's coming from center of the dash. I looked at the blownup parts list at Tousley. http://www.tousleyfordparts.com/part...layCatalogid=0 Is the part #6 what you think is defective?
