Default Brand new tuner not getting power?

Finally got my tuner and cai but im having trouble with the tuner. When I first plugged it in to the obdII port nothing happened. I wasn't able to get the unit to power on. So I took it inside and plugged it in to my laptop and it powered up but the backlight didn't work. I then retried it in my car and it worked with no backlight still and I was able to load my tune. I tried to change tunes last night and again today and it's not powering on again and now won't even power on via USB. Am I missing something or did American muscle send me a faulty tuner? And if it is faulty what will I have to do since i have my custom tune loaded already but can't seem to be able to reflash to stock

Sounds like your tuner has a faulty connector or a loose wire inside. id call AM and tell them, im sure theyll send you a new one. not sure if they can save your stock tune though. have you tried to jiggle the power cable or move it around to see if it will work? i have an older SCT2 and i sometimes have similar problems.i just have to play around with it and it eventually works...need a new one in the future for sure!

If something is loose AM might actually be able to fix it and keep your stock tune.

You will more than likely send it back (I hate doing that!!) and they will extract your stock tune file and send you another one. They may even have stock files for your car on hand. You are not hosed by any means. AM WILL fix you up.

A tuner right off the box should be up and running as soon as you plug it in...yours is faulty.

I'd be bummed at the fact you have to do all this during the holiday weekend! At least you got the tune into your car.

I'd still try to back up your stock stuff before you return it just in case.

I have no worries about being hosed over by AM, I just wanted to be sure I wasn't doing something wrong. I emailed them but haven't heard back yet, I'll try and give them a call soon

Yeah, just give them a ring when they are open. They will make it right fast.
