Default Settings for passive alarm

Only have the passive alarm system. For about 3 weeks, anytime the windows were down and the car locked, as soon as you tried to open the outside door handle it would set off the alarm.

Nice feature since the Mustang is the window down car... Quick trip into fast food, or whatever were you know you're in earshot is fairly comforting...

It's not doing it now... I can't find anything in the manuals...

Anyone know how to set this?

DEpmnding on what alarm you have, some have a motion sensro and a shadow could make it go off. People walk by my car in the driveway and if the sun is right, the shoadow passing through the interior is enough to make it go off.

Mine has never gone off from the handle being pulled.

I don't think the door handle is what set it off. It was possibly the interior motion sensors above the interior rear view mirror. They sense motion outside the windows when they are down and the doors are locked.

If you push your key Fob once, it locks the doors, twice it activates the alarm system. Not sure how you could adjust the sensitivity.

The motion detector is part of the active alarm system... I have the passive system... I've tried every combination for key fob pushes... No luck..

It was definitely related only to the outside door handle. You could stick in your arm and open from the inside and it wouldn't go off... Touch the outside door handle and it would go off..

Try locking the door using the key....not the fob.

Key thing didn't work. For whatever reason, it's working again. If both windows are down, lock it with the key fob, you pull the outside door handle, the alarm goes off. Wish I knew how it was being turned on/off...
