Exclamation Need HELP Cleaning Engine With Supercharger!

Ok I have NEVER cleaned my engine except for with water.

I heard that Armor All was not good to use.
I went to the store and bought Simple Green and I also bought
something called Black Magic 2 in 1 Engine shine.

Has anyone used these products on their engine with a supercharger?
The Black Magic says safe for all engine parts but says nothing about a supercharger or it's belts.

I just dont want to put anything on that could harm the engine, supercharger, or belts.

Also.. can someone tell me what steps to take when doing this?
My car is already clean so I really want to be able to do this
without getting the car really wet or dirty again.

Thanks everyone!
Also.. if there is anything else I should use let me know lol!

if you can catch things with your hands, use your hands.
i only use simple green, or engine degreaser, or engine bright on areas i cant reach.
i never put water on wires, or air filters.
if your engine is clean already you can just wipe it with a rag.
SC is ok to clean just like your engine just be careful with the intake.

The engine is pretty clean. But the hoses, etc have marks on them that wont come off with water alone. When the hoses dry... bam the marks are there again.

And the SC and such looks faded compared to people's I have seen at shows that have cleaned their engine bays, shinier.

I still have some 303 Aerospace Protectant left over from my matte black stripes that I used for cleaning them.

Has anyone used this on their hoses? I read in a couple of places it was ok to use
but I want to make sure.

always work on a COOL engine...use a nice degreaser (i suggest adams all purpose cleaner, but there are others as well)...get a good quality boars hair brush *softest brush to clean any delicate surface*(again, i suggest adams, but there are many others...

you want to spray, not soak the engine (use a soft setting, but not too soft)

then spray down the engine using the degreaser

srub the area sprayed with the degreaser with the boars hair brush

spray the residue off and close the hood

don't forget to cover any air filters

also refer to this video as well http://www.adamsforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8778

I always wipe everything down with a damp rag under the hood. Been doing it every few weeks since the car was new, so it all still looks great. If water spots show on the rad hoses, I wipe them down with a bit of tire shine. None of this is scientific and I'm sure others have more "professional" standards when it comes to cleaning under the hood, but I always get compliments on my engine bay.

Careful not to use anything caustic on bare aluminum it will leave permanent marks. Simple Green can do this if not rinsed off immediately. Degreasers that are petroleum base like Gunk-Off is safer. I used Armour-all on hoses and wire looms with no issues but there are probably better products out now.
