It takes about 15 minutes to remove the entire assembly and it is like it was never there - so the back seat can be used. The only thing left is the mounting plate at where the main hoop bolts in, but that is flat; and the plate in the front at the driver and passenger feet where the door bar mounts for the 5th and 6th points.

But the door bars are removable independently which is how I drive it daily. The door bars are out (except for the front plates which aren't in the way at all) and the main hoop and back bars.

This shows the plate in back where the rear passenger feet would be (before the interior was put back in)

And this is where the back bars bolt in

and with the rear seat in place

This is the 4 point section of the roll cage

Driver side door bar is removed here

Thanks JimC, this is very useful. Are all bolt-in cages expected to be so easy to remove and mount back in? 15 min sounds like a no brainer ...

Not necessarily. The fabricator who made this one did another car and while it is a bolt in it is much more difficult to remove. The interior has to be taken apart because the hoop goes through the plastic and the mounting point is underneath. The MMR is like that as well; a good design and good bar but not easily removed once installed. We designed this one with ease of removal in mind, as well as where we could tie in to the frame rails without going through the plastic interior.

I'll get his contact information for you. I have it, but can't find it on my desk, but I have a card in my car center console.

Capitol Raceway here in MD told me that if I ran faster than 12.5 I would NEED a helmet, and faster than 12.0, I'd need a FULL Cage as well. If not, I would be on the "Can Not Run List" (I'm guessing they take your info, pics of car and tag # and refer to that at tech.)
