Default Bout to pull the trigger on this

Decided to step it up and get a Vortech V-3 Si Trim (Complete Kit). Was wondering if i could use my Airaid cold air intake with this s/c? or does it require my stock airbox or does it replace it completely? Because i really enjoy the Airaid intake sound

Also what other type of supporting mods should i get so i dont damage anything on the car? (if need be) i know the kit comes along with Fuel rail spacer and injectors. Thanks in advance! Cant wait!!!

you definitely dont want to use the stock air box! I would ask vortech what intake they suggest and go from there... as far as not damaging the car just keep it below 490rwhp which you will be. other than that... have a blast man

are the fuel rails/injectors neccesary to prevent detonation? or could i buy the tuner kit and save money and be fine with 490rwhp?

(Still going to get the fuel upgrades but just curious

your going to need fuel upgrades and as long at your below 500rwhp your not at a huge risk of blowing the internals... that being said im at 465 for a reason and its not cause i cant make more power...

Andy! Where in georgia do you live?

Also, while I have you, I assume you're running stock internals on your setup? Do you have an upgraded clutch? I'm about to put in a vortech and I am trying to make sure I'll be safe.

Have fun with the kit, but for gods sake.. get tires!

I don't have traction until about halfway down the track until I can have full traction (at about 45mph lol).. still trapping 111mph, hitting 130mph at the end of the track when it's time to brake

Will a boss 302 intake manifold still work with the vortech?

WOW I was just reading this thread as if you had a 3v 4.6l.... sorry man lol. Dont worry about 490rwhp if you have the 5.0 since I dont believe thats the limit on that car. As for the intake I am not sure what the 5.0's are using with the vortech kit, but with the 4.6's it comes with its own intake built in with the kit.
