Last I heard the wheel swap can and has been done, but getting the buttons to work is another story. There was someone who was trying to make it work.... Torch_Vert maybe? I'm interested though, because I'd love to have radio controls on the steering wheel

Not 100% sure it was him, but for some reason I think I remember reading a thread he made about this

I'm not sure about a swap of a 11 wheel on a 09 stang, but this morning, I swaped my 12 base steering wheel for the premium with leather. On the base one, there's only the buttons for the cruise control. On the premium, there's the ones for the radio too. The wires for the radio were already in place, just unplugged. But the mechanic at the dealer told me, after a few tests, that the controls for the radio couldn't work. All he can do was trying to reset then reprogram the whole car, that it can take many hours and that nothing was sure about the results.
So if the steering wheel fit on your car, but you don't already have these controls on your stock wheel... Good luck!

When I ordered my new stereo form crutchfield there was an addition to the new PAC harness that would allow for steering wheel controls. That was for my pioneer BT3200. I have a feeling if you have an aftermarket stereo it makes it a lot easier, but then again I've never tried it. It would be nice to have though.
