Default Did my car have the dreaded water leak?

I was in the SBJ area yesterday and I noticed there's a white foam piece attached above the SBJ and draped over it.

Does this mean the water leak problem was probably addressed by a dealer at some point?

The foam piece doesn't sound like a fix per the TSB, IMO. It sounds like the previous owner tried his own fix. Can you post pics?

My '07 has a factory installed, white plastic "awning" above the SJB. As an engineer, I'd be fired for coming up with such a lame fix for such a serious problem.

My 07 PP came with the white foam piece.
I bought it new and have never noticed a leak.
I don't know if the factory put it on or if the dealer put it on.

Describe this "awning", it may be the same thing I'm talking about.

They started putting the foam piece on in late '05.
A thin white foam material, hangs over SJB.
