Ummm, TC does get the brakes involved at least under some situations. It's the reason why for most sorts of performance or competition driving you turn it off.

I think how the TC works varies by car model and by maker

I know in mine if I force TC to kick in the rear brakes don't kick in just timing is pulled and it'll skip a few cylinders

it sounds like its misfiring and all

the way to test this is find a good open road and try to do a burnout with TC on

its really up to the manufacture as to how it will work

if someone wanted to make a TC system that would just be insane they could make a diff that could act like a LSD but had a function of a locker but selectivly on the axels

then they could put a sensor to measure road speed and compair to tire speed for each tire, ect, ect

I have taking mine off a couple of times in the twisties
it’s not long after that my car quickly informs me that T/C needs to be on.

I gotta say it again.
DONT depend on the TC.

Not saying you do or were, just saying DONT.
It's like depending on pulling out not to impregnate a woman. (Yeah.. forgive me for the dirty reference, mods delete if I went overboard on that lol)

if someone was truely insane they could make a TC system that required 4 external cameras pointed at the car each with laser distance meters and super accurate GPS data then add all the LSD, lockers, AWD, maybe even hight control

at somepoint it would be impossible to break free

That's only what you'd like it to be telling you, so you wouldn't have to do anything to improve as a driver.

Wrong answer.

This is real life, not GT5, and what your car is trying to tell you is that your throttle has more than just two useful positions and that you need to get used to using all of them (especially in the corners, as you might be beginning to suspect).

Everything else, from engine torque/power through axle gearing to tire choice and condition is just minor details, because ultimately it's up to you to decide how much power you think you can actually use under whatever conditions.

Kind of a long way of saying "Learn how to drive". Learn about something called the "friction circle", it's particularly relevant to the trouble you almost put yourself in.

I've been at this driving thing for 47+ years, and I'm still learning.

I'm guessing that's an SAE paper, so that might be exactly what it is.

Can you send me a copy? Really. I am that interested.
