problems lowering car
ok so i installed the ford racing k spring in my 2011 GT. I reused the stock strut mounts, and after install was complete, i would get a knocking/popping sound from the front when going over bumps or turning. from what i read, i should have no reused the stock upper strut mounts. so i ordered the upgraded ford M-18183-C strut mounts and i am trying to install them now, but it does not seem like they will work with my stock struts, the bolt on the end of the strut does not go all the way through the strut mount for me to put the strut nut on. I do not want to spend the money to buy new struts, so what do i do?!!!!

You will buy new struts in the near future anyways after you are lowered. Your OEM struts will be shot and your car will ride like crap. Just giving you a warning. The front struts were designd to travel in a certain range. Eventually your car will start to porpose or bouce up and down over bumps. Thats why springs, shocks, struts and panhard bar are all done at the same time.
Good luck with the bolt hole.

I grabbed GT500 struts for about $60. look for the seller "greenleafprime" on eBay.
They are an authorized GT500 upfitter. All the cars they upgrade, they take the original GT500 parts that are brand new but have a handful of miles (0-50 miles) and resell.
Otherwise, if you are going to spend the money, grab some Koni struts. Sam Strano is around here somewhere. You should talk with him
