The Whipple isn't a roots style it's a twin screw, but enough nit picking. Either kit will put a smile on your friends face every time he hits the gas. I have the Whipple and it's awesome, but I might be a little bias. To be fair I have only heard good things about the R2300. It mainly come down to which one he likes the look of best and the little details he wants. Like fuel system upgrades etc.

Depends on the route you go, I haven't really researched it but I would guess 5-6k based on short block prices Ive seen. Maybe can do it cheaper if you forge it yourself but not sure.

With a good tune I'd say 450-480 you can push 500 but thats taking a chance, fuel system upgrade is usually a Kenne Bell BAP or GT500 pumps or both
Isn't the phase 2 an option from only VMP Tuning that requires additional tuning cost? The fuel system is standard with the Whipple kit as well as the tune.

You are correct. You can't go wrong with either!

Well I'll have to show him that link

It does seem like the Roush has the most room for improvement if he decides to forge the internals, ect

Either kit will get him stoked for sure. Dont forget you gonna need to upgrade that clutch. Stocker wont last long. 450 rwhp is good power. I'm at about 425 and the wheels spin very easily and I have an auto. The tune is everything. Whomever he buys from make sure he gets a good tune and or a dyno tune after the install. Skimping there can cost you big money.

He's going to get it dyno tuned at Brenspeed

It sounds like the Roush has the most room to grow if he ever forges it and really beefs the engine.

He's doing this for his "3 year" project. It calls for pretty much everything - including the interior - to be modified or replaced. It will be amazing.
