Wilwood Breaks need help with question??
i am looking to add red calipers to my car. i do not like the look of the painted stock calipers, and the caliper covers are cheezy at best. can anyone look at this link http://www.wilwood.com/Calipers/CaliperListLanding.aspx and tell me if i can get a set of these that will work with my stock break set up. i have a 2001 mustang gt with the 19" stock wheels. i do not know what piston count, mount description, piston area mean? so i cannot complete my search.
or if anyone has an alternative idea besides spending a couple grand for the upgrade kit?

Cheesy = picking brakes on what the caliper looks like.
Brakes are a complex system that need to be well matched to the other components and the weight and handling characteristics of the car. I seriously doubt that a Champion has taken the podium caring what color his calipers were.
Do some research and find good braking upgrades. Whatever that is, it will look cool because it's for real and not window dressing.

I believe this is the Wilwood kit you want: http://www.wilwood.com/Search/PartNo...px?itemno=9109
Whether or not it will fit under your front wheels I couldn't say, you'd need to do some measurements. This kit has 13" rotors, so the wheel diameter isn't a concern, rather its the caliper to spoke clearance that would be an issue and needs to be measured. You can also get the same kit with 14" rotors if you have big enough wheels. You can call them and ask.
The SL6 caliper in this Wilwood kit is widely used in performance driving and amateur competition. The pads for it are very cheap (several calipers from different manufacturers use the same size pad), which is a nice bonus.
