Default Shelby Driver's Side Airbag Cover Emblem

There is a great Shelby Snake emblem without the GT 500 logo in a FRPP airbag cover that fits into the drivers side airbag of the 2010 Cobra Jet race car. I have a 2007 Shelby conversion and am looking for this exact piece to fit into my airbag cover.

Does anyone know if I can take the Mustang emblem out of my 2007 cover, and replace it with the snake emblem in the 2010 cover? There has been a lot of conflicting information on replacing the emblem ("you need to replace the whole airbag assembly" but this cannot be true because this is an FRPP part) so I need to hear from someone who knows this issue or has done this themselves. The dealers want to sell the whole assemble so that experience has not been helpful.

I am also not looking to use a 2007 GT 500 emblem because I have take great pains to avoid "GT 500" anywhere on my car. Rationale: I have a lot of Shelby parts on the car but it is not a GT 500.

Thanks for advice.

Thanks that is the exact piece I was looking at, but I am not sure if the emblem will fit. I guess I will take a gamble and try it out. Thanks

expensive gamble. lol if not back on e-bay. I know it can be done. Not from personal experience but I did watch a special when Chip Foose made the Foose mustang and he changed that logo.

Thanks Python, love the Trufibre hood! I have been thinking getting one and on the other end, about either the Foose Stallion spoiler or the CDC Ducktail instead of my GT 500 spoiler. There is something I do not like about it the GT 500 design, not sure what but I guess its because it does not go all the way to the side of the rear quarters.

ive seen people get custom made decals to cover the pony on the steering wheel.

i would try that first over buying a new airbag cover at ~$80

I'm dealing with that little pony emblem too...I don't want a cobra, but I'm trying to figure something out. I got tired of that bubbly clearcoat, so I've almost gotten it all picked off down to the paint and emblem underneath. Considering trying to re-clearcoat it with some high temp spraypaint....bad idea?

Not trying to thread jack here, sorry if it came off that way. That little thing is just a cheap, frustrating deal.

I thought you needed a whole new airbag assembly to replace the emblem? Or is that cover in 10+ stangs?

I've read threads about replacing the entire assembly for it as well...too much work IMO, but the people that did it were under warranty.

simplex, stunning car you've got there.

My pony is fading and getting ugly. Would love to do this. Let me know how you make out.
