I'm waiting for somebody to open an investigation on the Chinese made APIM modules that control the MyTouch, I replace 4-5 of those a week and the programming takes hours. This is why I hate made in China stuff, especially when the manufacturer wants to cut costs.

A tune will disable it. Mine does not lock me out anymore. I think my adaptive learning disabled it for me.

Azpete has a post somewhere where he gives instructions to unplug the solenoid for skipshift

As for occasional rough shifts, I get those but fortunately I do not get any gear lockouts or anything as severe as others have experienced.

I thought this was a like a 1-1000 type thing, it seems to be coming up on message boards on a regular basis.

The only time I've ever seen it, except for picking it up after delivery, is after my wife drives it. I think she drives it really slow or something. After I drive it for a bit it goes away again not to be seen for months.

If they do announce a recall, it will be interesting to see what Ford does to solve the problem. Try and fix the current transmission or replace it with a different one, Tremec maybe.
