SCT is the brand of handheld tuner and AM/Bama provides tunes for the SCT tuner. You can just buy the SCT handheld and use SCTs canned tunes but they are not nearly as good as buying the SCT handheld through AM/Bama and getting their custom tunes with it. The AM/Bama tunmes are much more dialed in.

The SCT tunes are canned tunes that are mild compared to the Bama, Brenspeed, Evolution and a few others tunes. IMO, the canned tunes (including the FRPP tune) are about 8-10 RWHP shy of a good custom tune.

Should the tunes not match the increased flow CAI that they
will be used with?
Or are the OEM and canned tunes so conservative that any
combo of CAI and AM/BAMA hot tune will be right on and produce
the most perceivable HP increase without 'running lean'?

well i know that when you get an AM/Bama tuner or tune, they ask you specific questions regarding the upgrades you've put into your car so they can custom the tune to give you maximum performance. (i watched the info video on AM's website)

I didnt see this as an option when ordering from the printed AM catalog.
I guess those of us without the internet just dont get the whole story before ordering...

There's much, much more to a tune than adjusting for airflow. That's why you can have a tune written that pushes the envelope in a number of different ways. When you order a tune from Bama, Brenspeed or any of the other "better" tuners, they write an aggressive tune that also maintains a certain safety margin, especially since each engine can be a little different than the next. Some folks are willing to reduce their amount of safety margin and request a "hotter" tune. That's another reason why you should use a tuner that has a LOT of experience with these engines as opposed to someone with less experiencce that may give you one heck of an aggressive tune but one that will also cause eventual engine damage. From what if seen, Bama and Brenspeed know where to draw that line very well.
