Ford Racing CAI vs. C&L CAI
Hey, I'm new to this site and I'm looking for opinions on the differences between the Ford Racing CAI ($564.99) and the C&L CAI ($644.99). It is a Tuner CAI combo, but the tuners are the same so its negligible.

Does anyone have any input or experiance with either of these? I want to save money but I don't want to cheat myself.

I'll say this,
I love my Brenspeed tune. When I ordered it, I got an email from Doug and he asked me one question:
Do you have the black/bullitt style or the stainless steel style?
Me thinks they asked for a reason and I haven't been disappointed by the tune yet.

Damn this topic has been coming up alot lately it seems.
To answer your question, I would definately go with the ford racing cai for fit and finish reasons. I had the c&l and didn't like it and for the money ($650) you could have the king ding a ling of intakes imo for another $20, brenspeed tuned!

Saleen Extreme/Ultimate air...its the tit's!!

Nuke has it right on the money. I learned the hard way. Waiting for the UPS man to deliver my new SCT tuner from AM/BAMA. They say Monday.

Anyway, I can tell you on the V8 the C&L intake with an AM/Bama tune makes about 7 rwhp more than the Buillitt FRPP and an AM/Bama tune. That's because the flow rate (CFM) on the FRPP unit is about ~150 CFM lower (850 CFM vs 1000 CFM or something like that)
On a V6 I'd imagine the HP difference is actually less (like half) if even completely nullified because the V6 doesn't require as much air.
AM did a bunch of dyno pulls on a stock 4.6L 3v with various intakes and their tunes and posted the numbers a few months ago. It's most likely in their forum if you dig for it.
I went with the Bullitt style FRPP intake and wouldn't think twice. It is a factory part and looks really nice under the hood.
