I always recommend a dyno tune with FI.

nothing against brenspeed because i love those guys, but there perfect tune had me at 383 at the wheels. dyno tuned at fastlane motorsports in NC got me 470 at the wheels. IAT was around 170*. cant boost any more with out cooling down that intake charge. plus it might go boom soon. so im going forged, air to air fmic, cams, and about 16lbs of boost on my v3.

get a dyno tune. get your gauges put in(boost and afr at the least) and start saving for a intercooler so you can bump it up from 8lbs to 10lbs and have way more consistant power.

wow...find it hard to believe almost 100 more ponies were there for a non IC'd V3, in the tune!

ok, I called brenspeed and they assured me that I am fine, but when I can add the gauges and dyno tunes, as of now I am able to thrash my car around and it will hold up.

Didn't happen. You're not netting nearly 100whp from a change in tunes at these power levels. Giving you the benefit of the doubt that it's a typo of some sort lol.

not a typo. i went to them because it didnt feel like i added a claimed 150 hp. the first run was 383 with the brenspeed tune. some tweaking, next pull was 440. more timing was at 470. i would show the dyno sheet but its in my center councle in my car. and im in iraq so its kinda hard. maby ill get my wife to scan it to me. just sayn that you should get a dyno tune.

I believe you gained a decent amount of horsepower chris09!! I have a friend with a vortech v3 H.O. who used to have a brenspeed email tune and than went and got a local dyno tune and gained over 40rwhp!! I am guessing the brenspeed tunes are a little on the conservative side, but I have also never heard a complaint about their tunes either.

OP my vote is go for a dyno tune..... as you can tell from my MANY threads, if you are anything like me just go with a dyno tune and be done with it.

I have seen dyno tunes from all of the big tuners on the dyno. Some are really good, some are okay, some flat suck. I have seen more often then not people getting huge gains at the track and on the dyno from dyno tuning.

I saw a whipple 07 GT go from 340ish rwhp to 470. He was on the Ford tune.

My KB tune went from less than 400 to 475 rwhp. That's not real fair to KB since they told me the tune would be off because of the combo.

Dyno tunes can also move the torque around when the VCT is left in place.

I've seen it happen som many times it is what I expect.

My turbo put down 390ish rwhp at 10 psi. 410 twtq with the canned tune. Custom tune 470 rwhp and 490 rwtq.
