Default 305/40/18.. Will they rub??

I'm getting some nitto 555r I was going to just get some 285/40s but I like the real wide tire look and well the 305/40s are cheaper too lol so it's perfect but I know there might be a chance of rubbing.. Does anyone know if they will?? Or would I need to get 305/35? I have different wheels on the car too they are the 2010 gt500s 18x10.. Incase the offset of them makes a difference thanks for the help

I can tell you this. The 305/40/18 will not rub unless you have your mustang slammed to the ground. Anything less then 2 inch's is good. I see you do have a 2005 mustang. They will fit fine. Those year mustang's have a huge fender wheel gap's.

Wow, that's wide! Are you going that size all the way around?

Mine rub on tight turns (275s on Roush Forged 18 X 10). Watch the wiring harness on the drivers side front wheel well.

They will be fine but I think that is about the limit on the S197 without modification!

I have 305/40-18 with 10th anniversary cobra wheels in 18x10 (rear). Offset is +43mm. I'm lowered 1.75" in the rear and they slightly rub over large dips. It's not that bad but I do plan to switch back to my previous springs which should put the rear at 1.5".

You can see in the picture that the tires are even with the fender lip.

Really they rub? I'm lowered 1.5 in the rear with the eibach pro-kit and my 295/45/18s don't rub and they look to sit closer to the fender then those. Unless yours is rubbing on the inside? Beautiful car btw I almost when with the 10th anniv. wheels!
