I have been borrowing my friends Hero camera and decided that an exhaust video was in line....

My car is mainly stock as far as the engine goes. Borla ATAK Cat-Back w/ Borla X-Pipe.

Sounds great! Did you do the install yourself? I'm buying a catback system for 12' GT next month and would like to do it myself using a jack and stands if possible.

Nice but I gotta say I'm a little dissappointed that I didnt see black marks coming from behind the car when you pulled out and really got on it.

I did install the system myself... I did use my friends lift tho so I didn't have to do it on the ground. I'm sure the Axlebacks wouldn't be hard on the ground, but the way they have the bolts where the x-pipe connects to the mid pipe, is a pain in the but cause the bolts to loosen it are on the top side of the pipe.

I would recommend air tools as well. It's hard to get the leverage you need to loosen those stock bolts...

The other problem I had (but was easily fixed with an air chisel: The stock couplings (that you reuse) are welded to the stock exhaust. An air chisel was super easy to take them off but would have been a pain otherwise.

When you are lining up the exhaust tips, make sure that the hangers aren't rubbing up against each other on the muffler.

I think that is about all of the trouble I had.... alignment is key with these. Make sure they are "mirror images" of each other. Have fun! The exhaust was worth every penny!

Thanks for the tips Peez, appreciate it! I'll try the install myself with a jack and stands, if that doesn't work I could probably use the lifts in the auto department at my college. And I know what you mean about reusing the stock couplings when I installed ATAK mufflers on my V6 that I had.

Did you have to torque anything to spec when putting it all back together? Or did you just hand tighten it all?
