You want a Speed of Sound gauge pod that fits on the A-pillar. This replaces the the car's A-pillar (which is a long piece running from the corner of your window all the way over the door frame). Speed of Sound uses actual Mustang GT A-pillars and attaches the gauge cups to them so it looks stock.

As for gauges, Auto Meter offers a wide selection of really nice gauges in a wide price range. I went with the Nexus series because they look cool (colors can be changed), you can set a warning level on each gauge that makes the gauge face flash red (unless the gauge IS set to red, then it flashes blue), gauges are self-calibrating electrics, the system is plug-and-play using a hub hiding behind the glove compartment, and the remote can record data to a flash card.

No I don't want the ones that go to the a pillar that sit at that location.
I don't like the gauge pods that are set up at that location. Thanks for telling me that is what I want though hahaha!

That is why I was asking about the empty Shelby pods.
I am just wanting to know if those Shelby pods on my last post will work
with the aeroforce gauges including the wide band aeroforce also sells.

Just kidding. The ones that mount on the dash require you to chop into the plastic dashboard piece. The pillar pod simply pops out using your hands and could be put back to stock very easily.

I don't like the a pillar setup either. They do look great, but I didn't want it this go around. Also for the 2010+ there is no dash mount that I like. That's why this go around I went with the steering column mount.

The issue with dash mount is that you have to cut holes in order to route wiring, etc. You can never go back after that.

Most gauges are 2 and 1/16 or translated to 52mm so they should fit in the Shelby pod perfectly.

I have the Autometer dash pod and no cutting of the dash is required. The wiring routes down through the defrost vents at the bottom of the windshield and the back of the pod. By the way, the Shelby gauge pod holes are 2 5/8". That's a little bigger than the Aeroforce gauges which are 2 1/16". That's the reason I didn't go with the Shelby pod. Most gauges are 2 1/16" like my Autometer Cobalt series.

2007Cal:

Wow that looks GREAT!
No cutting of the dash?
Can you give me a link to that pod?

What guages are those? Cobalts?
Do they make a wide band?
ALSO... can you change the colors to be red instead of blue lit up?

Yeah no cutting required. The gauge pod will fit Aeroforce gauges.

The gauges are the Cobalt series by Autometer. Wideband is in the middle of course. They only come in blue.

Wow! Surprised the Shelby gauges are larger. Everyone uses 52mm, wonder why they felt a need to go larger .......

Probably to force you to buy Shelby gauges.

You can get the Shelby pod without holes though. I don't like that idea because I would probably F-up when cutting the holes. Be all crooked and chit. lol
