Hi 2010stanger,

Are you still hearing the humming noise? If so, Please PM me with your VIN, contact information, mileage, & servicing dealer name/state and I will assist. Thanks!

i dont think theres much you can do to help... dealers have looked at the car and have told me that its a mix of muffler and drive train resonance. Told me there is no abnormal noise coming from rear diff. They refuse to open up diff for no reason

i have had two 08 bullitts. i have had this problem in both. i can hear the whine from around 30-80mph. after eighty i cant hear anything. i always thought it might be the exhaust. but,, now im not sure. after seeing this:

This article supersedes TSBs 8-21-6 to update the vehicle model years.
ISSUE:
Some 2005-2010 Mustang vehicles may exhibit excessive axle whine noise.
ACTION:
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
This condition may be corrected by installing tuned dampers on the rear axle assembly, if not already installed.
1. Check the rear axle assembly for the presence of tuned dampers. (Figures 1-2) Figure 1 - Article 09-20-4
Figure 2 - Article 09-20-4
2. If not present, then install tuned dampers. Refer to the installation instruction sheet included in the damper kit.
NOTE:
NO DRILLING IS REQUIRED IF DAMPER MOUNTING HOLES ARE PRESENT. VEHICLES BUILT AFTER 11/15/2004 ALREADY HAVE THE REQUIRED DAMPER MOUNTING HOLES.
3. If whine noise persists, then continue with normal diagnostics per Workshop Manual, Section 205-00.
