*Installed* Magnetic Blackout Panel (PICS)
After 5 days of patience from American Muscle, I received my magnetic blackout panel. I was expecting a big plastic panel with magnets. Turns out its just a rolled up piece of magnet, like the ones you see on a truck advertising a hardware store. Installation was quick an easy, I just gave my decklid a good clean, slapped that bad boy on there, and adjusted to fit. Heres what came out:
This one shows you the sort of magnet material it is:
It fit nicely, had to tuck it in under the fake gas cap/ trunk opener.
Since I recieved it rolled up, I had to wait for the heat to warm it and soften it for it to all stick nicely. In the cold later that night, it was hardened, and was fitting quite pleasurably.
I am satisfied. Has anyone ever experienced theirs flying off?
Thanks,
Joe

Just got my second one last week. After 4 years of baking in the sun here in the south, the first one shrunk a bit and got brittle.
One of the cheapest and easiest mods that really looks great. Don't want to paint the panel in case I ever want to go back to original one day. Keeping all my stock parts.
One thing I really like about the magnet also is the gap it leaves at the top instead of going all the way up to the line on the trunk. I like that little dip between the tail lights.

I've had mine on for a couple of years. I was skeptical when I ordered it that it would look tacky or cheap. Not the case at all. No one can tell that it's a stick on and not flat black paint. I took it off for awhile but the rear just seemed sort of plain after that, like something was missing. I put it back on and probably will leave it. It's about as cheap and easy as it gets for an appearance mod, both to install and to change later.
