Just put a roof rack on my 2012 GT. I like it. I've always enjoyed mountain biking, and this can be removed in about 2 minutes for when I go to the track. Best of both worlds. My car is a driver...I have over 13,000 miles in a little over 6 months.

@ AZPETE Happy with etrailer? What hitch did you get?

I am going to install a hitch on my 11 vert for the same purpose

Thanks

I have a saris rack but I banged up my bumper, I regret not getting the hidden hitch which I'm doing now.. The saris bones rack and their other racks all fit on the stang with a spoiler. The problem with the bones is you can't open the truck with it on.

Looking to buy a Santa Cruz Blur over the next few months, can't wait!

I have the Saris Bones 2. My GT has the GT500 spoiler and it clears it. I did notice after the last ride, the rubber feet must have had some debris because I have a few surface scratches.

I couldn't justify the expense (or the hassle) of a rooftop rack setup, but I found a Thule trunk rack that I like instead. It's the 9003 Raceway Platform 2. As far as I know, it's the only trunk mounted rack that doesn't hold the bike(s) by the frame; and the only trunk rack that takes the bikes' weight at the wheels but doesn't require a hitch. It's a little unwieldy, at first, but it goes on and off in about 10 minutes once you get the hang of it. Folds up nicely for compact storage too. The only complaints is that with it set up as specified for Mustangs, the bike rides a little higher than I expected; and once I took the rack off, there were two dimples in my bumper cover. But the plastic took its shape back not long after the rack was off.

I've got a picture to post, but am unable to do so. One of these days I'm going to get around to a photobucket account or something . . . Meanwhile, here's a link so you can at least see it.
