Default Hot Rod Club

From AM they're in route... Woop!!!

Ok... seen the sticky... done lots of searches....

https://mustangforums.com/forum/gt-s...ion-guide.html

Searched the for sales.. once upon a time some dudes were renting the wedge and spring compressor tools...

Searched ebay.. nothing but retail...

So what are most folks doing??? dumping $400 for the tools???? What are the alternatives?????

+1. I just ordered longtubes and detroit rockers from Brenspeed yesterday and also need to rent some tools. A local mechanic said he'd install for $350. I'd pay that before I go buy expensive 1 time use tools.

Edit: I was at Advance Auto this morning and they said they rent the valve spring compressor. So I really just need to find the timing chain wedge.

I HIGHLY doubt that Advance Auto has the correct valve spring compressor for the 3V. They have a generic set that will not work with the 3V.

$350 is an insanely good price to install cams and headers. I wouldn't think twice.

Now THAT's what I call some quality information there.
Good job 808!

BTW... just curious.
Did you rent his tools when you put your cams etc. in?
Just wondering if that's how you knew the info lol.

BTW to the OP...

You will LOVE the Hot Rods!
We had them in our 06GT and it was our FAVORITE mod!

The awesome lope sound, the shaking of the cams, car just
feels like a whole different machine with them in.
Congrats!

Thanks for the link.

By the way, that price was for cams only.

I installed my Hot Rods without either of the special tools. No issues.
