2014 Mustang

There is a reason why camaro is out selling the stang now b/c everyone that loved the retro look has a stang now. Its time for them to redisign and hopefully its somthing that people will love again. I just hope they dont try to bring the SN95 look. Those cars to me were a bit girlish looking. Just like the GTO when it came back it was to girlIy lookin. It had 400hp but yuck.
I think ford will do a good job with the design.

Hope this article is wrong http://editorial.autos.msn.com/blogs...026>1=220026 If it is true, Ford is not designing my next Mustang. They did it so perfect for 05 through 09, bringing me back to Ford ownership after being away for decades. In my opinion, from the design standpoint, they began to lose their way with the 10, now this.
After owning a 30, 40, 55, 60 and 63 my 09 might be my last Ford. Oh well, got to enjoy two GTs while it lasted.

Wow. What a slap in the face to Fox and SN95 owners on this forum.

Well the retro look cant last forever.
I like that it is changing in that the 05-09's will be even more
identifiable.
Now... I don't want them to just go and ditch ALL the heritage of the Mustang though.
As much as the SN95 and new edges were good looking cars, they just did not
say Mustang to me. Nor many of the traditional Mustang folks.
The people that grew up with those cars do not think this though because that is the Mustang THEY were used to seeing. But is really was quite a different looking car compared to the traditional Mustang look. I don't want to see the car go THAT far away from it's heritage.

To me, for someone who grew up in the 90s/00s, the sn95/new edge is THE mustang to me.
I'm personally glad. I have a 2012 GT and love it and will never sell it. But, retro is getting boring and dull. I can't wait to see a progressive Mustang design.

I think people can abuse the term retro. The camaro, corvette, and challenger are all in a sense a retro version of the original car, or at least the classic best of each car.
The Mustang lost it's way so bad in the late 70's 80's and 90's with the design as well as the other cars in my opinion because most all American cars did.
Has Porsche divorced itself from it's best early heritage?
There are hundreds of ways the Mustang can take styling cues from the classic design and move into the future, just not to do the typical American design move and ruin a good design by getting ugly.
The 2010 could have done many other thing than what they did with the rear of the car,and had a much nicer rear facia and diffuser area, but it was designed by committee. The rest of the car was well executed IMO moving forward from the 05', just the rear that they were trying too hard to move too fast from the 05 rear. I am hesitant to think the design is going to maintain it's current attraction.
At least the Corvette is stunning right now, and will change a subtle bit I bet. Erik

Not to mention you have a GT500 now.. and the best looking
modern design of the GT500 if I don't say so myself.
No way to trading that baby up!
