2010 GT 4.6L to 5.4L?

It's not like the old days. Engine swaps were simple. Today, with the electronics involved it is not an easy task.
But I add to this - why would you want to anyway? For $5k to $7.5k and a weekends work, you can supercharge your 4.6 and it will be an absolute beast! Much more cost effective and in reality a better result as well.

Most folks that contemplate an engine swap put pencil to paper and ultimately decide that it's more cost effective and less hassle to trade/sell their car for an upgrade. Engine and tranny swaps involve a good amount of electronics expertise since it changes the PCM and a host of other SJB-related changes. You'd also have to take tha added weight and power into consideration for the suspension mods you'll require. Extra power won't do you much good if you can't hook up or bring her to a stop.
SC's are a wise alternative and have a lot of good reliability behind them. Add an SC and do a few suspension mods and you'll need professional help for that 24/7 woody...

Thanks for the help guys, you've really opened my eyes... (no rhyme intended lol). I think I will trade it in for a 2011 GT and that'd be perfect, if my dad says it's too much power I might get the 2011 v6, which will save me probly $6k and a ton in gas. Only thing I'm concerned about is this:

has anyone heard anything about this or know when the direct injection will be implemented? The reason I'm asking is because maybe I'll just get the v6 now or keep the 2010 v8 and wait a couple years until it is.
Last question: has anyone heard of a 1031 exchange? it's when you sell property and instead of getting money and paying taxes on it, you use the money to buy something else before you get it. Details:

check that link out and let me know if you think I could sell my car private party then exchange the money to pay off the loan i still owe and to give the rest to the dealer with the car i want. Thanks a bunch fellas!!
