Default Plastidipped my rims (Pics)

Hey guys, decided to follow the trend! Picked up a can of plastidip from a local hardware store. Had to go back for another the next day. Anyway, after a lot of cleaning, masking, and patience, I got my rims to how I like them (for now) until I purchase a new set of rims. I took some photo's as the sun went down, here they are:

Please, no hateful comments on calling me rice. I did this because I'm a cheap bastard. How's that?

I think it looks good! I'm considering doing mine just for the heck of it and seeing if I like it. I haven't really seen it done on my style though.

Looks great, got any close up shots? Really goes good with your color.

Anyone know how this would work on the Pony Package grill and fog light surrounds? And the grill overlays?

What kind of prep does this stuff need?

Ugh, I might have to go down and pick up a few cans. Gt500 wheels are still a few months away for me! this would be a good alternative for the winter months.

Did you take the tape off quickly after spraying? The faster you take the tape off, the least likely it will grab or look uneven when removing. It looks good from a distance though.

Looks good! Nice job! I'm not a fan of all black wheels but I do like the look of the center black with the silver rim.

Really wanting to do this to my wheels until I order my new ones next year... I just get a little worried about how they are up close and if this material starts peeling off, what it looks like touched up. Anyway, love that look on your Mustang!!

People have been going nuts with this stuff, painting everything in sight, including stripes on their car. So I'd imagine you'd be fine, it's meant to peel off.

As far as prep, the area probably just has to be cleaned thoroughly. I'll wait for the "experts" to chime in though

On two of the rims I took it off about 15 minutes after spraying so it came off easier, whereas the other two i let them sit for a while before i took the tape off, and it was a rough edge. I'm planning on touching up the edges with the stuff and a fine brush.

And to everyone else, I'll get some close up pics soon.
