I own a 2010 Gt premium with Flowmaster American Thunder axel backs. Ive read on this forum countless time that an off-road X-pipe paired with this type of muffler (chambered) produces a "canned" sound and is not what most guys are looking for in that Muscle car-like sound.

As such, Ive looked around and found a off-road H-pipe from Pypes at LethalPerformance.com (see link below). My exhaust is otherwise stock.

This is the onlyh H-pipe Ive found for the 2010 that will bolt up directly to the stock manifold. I am also cost conscious and this one seems to be priced competitively.

In your opinions, will this give me what Im looking for? (small amount of added horsepower and a deeper, throatier exhaust note).

Thanks for your replies in advance. Happy Veterans day to all.

with the flows, i would stick with a h pipe or prochamber.
pypes is cheap, Jegs or Summit is cheaper.
it will make it louder and a little more HP. better sounding than an x pipe.
the midpipe is the same for 05-10

Just an idea of what it'll sound like. Answer for yourself, is this what you're looking for?

It'll definitely make it louder, but from my experience removing the cats adds a bit of rasp, but not like an o/r x pipe would. I'd say go for it!

Derek,
Remember, in NC we have emissions testing. If you remove the cats it may make it tough to pass inspection. Will defiinitely sound better though.

Where are you stationed? Keep an eye on the NC section, we try to have GTG as often as we can.

Thank you for your service sir.

I've been contemplating getting an o/r h-pipe as well, and where I live we have emissions. Though, if you're mechanically savvy enough to install your own h-pipe, then I've heard of people who every two years reinstall the stock mid-pipe for testing. Just a thought if you wanted to move forward with it.

I know it's hard to tell from a video posted on the internet but I don't think that sounds much louder than mine with the stock H and the Flows.

I've thought about a OR X or H but like Alan said, we have emissions.
