Default front left clicking noises

hi guys.

i have a clicking sound issue when i brake hard. It seems that my left front side seems to click every rotation when i get on the brakes. It does it most when i brake hard or medium. but it also makes that noise when i let go of the brakes and when i slowly take off. I cant seem to identify what the problem is. Its just a weird clicking noise. its pretty loud though. passengers can hear it as well.

I've removed the sway bar end links to see if that is culprit and it is not.

this noise is bugging me. please help me find a solution.

Is it absolutely only when braking? My mom's old Jeep Liberty got a rock stuck in one of the tires and it sounded like it was clicking. Just a thought.

the clicking initiates when i brake medium to hard. when i brake soft it doesnt make a noise. but when i come to a stop and slowly start rolling forward, i can hear the clicking noise but is not as apparent as when i am braking hard.

if its really at every wheel rotation its gotta be somewhat related to wheel and other things turning,
as mentioned by others check tire(s) for stones, screws, etc,
wheel lugs tight?
check brakes, pads good? play? take them out, clean caliper and pads, put new anti sqeak, replace them once they're out if they are somewhat worn (at least thats what i would do),
caliper screws tight?,
rotors visual issues?, any steering wheel shake when braking?

Could by like a chip in the rotor or something rotor related if it is every rotation. Easy solution? Go buy some slotted/drilled rotors and Hawk brake pads. Even if it doesn't fix it you should do it.

Hey foolio2k4,

Looks like everyone gave some pretty good tips, but just an FYI, the dealership has a promotion for a free brake inspection, so you may want to have them take a look.

Did you ever find the cause and solution to this problem? I have similar concern.

I had a similar issue one time where the straps that hold down the TPMS came undone inside the tire. I would only hear it when just starting to accelerate or when almost coming to a complete stop. Basically centrifugal force applying here, as the tire spun faster the strap was pegged to the inside of the tire.
At my next oil change, I had them remove the tire to take a look and that is what they found.

Hi drhiggy,

Not sure if you saw my other post, but welcome to the forum! My name is Deysha with Ford Service. You should bring it in to your Ford Dealer and have them check it out. Also, PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number so I can get it escalated for you.
