Cold weather clutch question
Okay, last week I take the car out for a ride after some new wheels and tires. I was on my way to work and it was cold, like 24 deg.. On my way to work I noticed I could get the clutch to slip in 3rd or 4th gear. Its the stock original clutch and with my upgrades I figured it done. So I order a new Mach 600 and a RAM flywheel.
I took it out today to get it up on my quick lift and for the hell of it I took it up the street. Now its 55 deg out today and I could not get it to slip.. Hole shot, WOT shift to 2nd and 3rd, nada...
Could cold weather of 24 deg cause that? I know its probably on its way out anyway but, this is weird..

The question should be Why are you running 490 HP to the wheels and asking why your STOCK clutch is having issues?
Wish I had such problems as too much HP. =-)
That's a pretty sweet problem to have! I bet the upgraded clutch will help out alot, I have a friend with a 650HP Roush and he runs the McLeod twin disc because the stock clutch was toast soon afterwards; he says it's night and day difference.

Yaeh, I know the OEM clutch was going to need replacing. Just that the way its acting in cold weather I have never come across.
