Any tinter worth his salt will know and stock moleskin and either add it at no cost or very low...Im thinking $20 for both windows. My 97 stang, 06 stang, 01 explorer, and 06 explorer all needed moleskin. Wifes' '10 Eddie Bauer explorer did not need moleskin and neither did my '10 GT. My tint guy said it's usually a problem either with Hondas or Toyota's (I don't recall which) and Fords before 08 or 09. I'm sure there are others too. There's really not a good way to tell IMO because it's one of those things that apparently happen and the tinter (or rather the customer) learns from the issue.

And no tint guy is going to warranty scratches on the tint nor the window when they are vertical and it's not reversible either, so you're looking at replacement only.

gahhh, why does Ford not think about this. they make some of the worlds most amazing cars but can't put in a thing to protect the window tint.

I had the same issue. Moleskin is a simple install too.
