Default GT500 wheels & tires

have an opportunity to get '09 GT500 original wheels with Goodyear F1s with less than 10K miles. Is this too much tire for an '08 V6 w/auto trans?

Go for it, you will be fine, I am running that set up as well minus the rims.

No such thing as too much tire. Throw a pair of NT05s on there if you want, all that will happen is your grip will improve.

maybe not, but there is such a thing as overkill. You would be flying to break the 285's loose with a pony so I don't think drag radials are necessary.

Lol but he didn't ask if it was necessary. He was questioning whether the V6 could handle it. Of course hardcore tires like the NT05 is not necessary on even a full bolt on 4.0L.

Nope, I just got the same rims two days ago on my 4.0 manual.
They look great, btw I have 285s on the back.

Are they the F1 summer or all seasons? I ask because since you're in Illinois, they won't be worth a darn in temps below about 45 degrees (the all-season F1's will perform marginally better than the summers).

my son just got a '09 GT500. he is buying new wheels and tires and offered the ones that came on it to me (no cost). they have less than 10K on them. as for winter or summer tires I don't know, but I have a Ranger 4X4 I drive when roads are bad.

What color combo, and where did her get it from? Might have been my old GT500 he got. Shoot me an email. If it is, I can give him all the info on it as to whats been done and what it put down. Tons of info.
