Got a new rear axle for my car
Now I was wondering it has 2.73 gearing and I won't have gears and a tloc for a couple months so how bad will it be driving with them? Where is the best place to get gears and loc and what gears or lock brand to buy

By bad, do you mean slow? Because yes, it will feel really slow until you get steeper gears. It should already have the tloc though. As for the best place to get gears, anywhere you can find them new and cheap. The best brand is FRPP, just make sure it is NOT motive gears. Motive gears whine like crazy.

So it won't be damaging or anything? I know it will be slow that a big change in gears. Thanks on the gears I knew I heard that motive gears whine but I never understood why so look for frpp. With my tuner will I have to have them write a new tune or can I just use it to modify the change? What will I have to change on my tuner?

The benefit to 2.73 gears is that you will get great fuel economy on the highway, but will accelerate a bit slower.
My '86 Mustang GT came with 2.73s and was fast (I could also get over 30 mpg on the highway!). I guess the 300 ft lbs of torque the 5.0 V8 had combined with the 2800 lb curb weight is better than an S197 with 240 ft lbs that is moving nearly 3400 lbs.

If it is the 8.8 it comes from the factory with the tlok. And yes, that is what "limited slip" means on the tag.
If it is a 7.5 from a 2001-12 V6 then it also has the tlok already installed.
Having the 2.73 gears means that it will accelerate slower, but at highway speeds your engine will be turning a lot slower. Do you have a SCT and tune so you can change the gear ratio? If not, then your speedometer and odometer will be off.

If you honestly and truly plan to do the Xcharger, get 3.73s. 3.55s are worthless, btw. The debate is always between 3.73s and 4.10s because 4.10s make highway driving an.... interesting...... exercise in fuel economy. It's typically not recommended that you go with 4.10s AND a supercharger, however. Couldn't tell you why though. Go with the 3.73s.
