2011 5.0 or 05-09 GT

the 2011 is a better Mustang than the 05-2010.
and there will be a better one that comes out later.
there will always be something better as time goes on.
but you have to consider you are 20 years old, and money doesn't grow on trees.
although seeing a number like 400 HP is great for selling cars, what do YOU really want from the Mustang?
do you want to go 10 seconds 1/4 mile, do road racing, or will this be a street car, or DD?
you can make a 05-2010 GT go 11 seconds with a blower and tires/suspension.
or you could go a little faster with a 2011.
with enough money, you can make anything go fast.
if its going to be a street car/DD, the 05-2010 will do nicely.
my suggestion is get what you can afford. either way it'll be a Mustang.

Stock for stock I'd rather have the 5.0, but most Mustang people don't leave them stock. You can easily mod the 3V GT to run as quick or quicker than the 5.0, so why not save the money on the car payment, buy the 3V GT, and make it run?
At UPR, our 3V GT test car makes 700rwhp and runs 9s on street tires. That's no slouch.

5.0 all the way dude, why spend the extra money trying to catch up with the stock power of a 5.0? I could do it again, I would have choosen to pay the 1.9% APR they offered for a 2011 5.0 instead of getting 0% for a 2010...sooo mad at myself for that.

Ok, so here's my question...do you have student loans that will need attention in the near future? If so, get the 05-09, mod it lightly and pay off the loans. If at that time you think that you'd rather have the "newer, faster" stang, trade it in and go about your business. The 05-09 GT has plenty of power for a DD and with minor bolt-ons is a good time. Make the better financial decision based on your situation and keep your "****" out of it. lol

Easily the 5.0. More potential, better suspension, and a MUCH better interior than the crap that was in the 05-09 models. A tune and a few mods on a 5.0 will easily beat a 05 GT that's supercharged.
