Default Vinyl versus paint.

So I'm looking to buy a 3D carbon chin spoiler and cervini m1 hood scoop here soon.
I want the scoop in matte black. And the spoiler in either matte or carbon fiber.

The spoiler (200 bucks) comes UNPREPPED. So it must be prepped primed and painted..,a bit expensive for a matte black finish..

Would it be cheaper/feasible/smarter to just wrap them in vinyl as opposed to spending a few hundred to get them painted?

Keep in mind it's a chin spoiler so it's bound to hit a curb eventually..and bam. There goes the paint.

Edit, here's a chop Tanner did of the chin spoiler.

Un-prepped usually means flat black (unless it's grey).

I saw somewhere that their Unprepped was a white plastic? I may call and ask though.

How would carbon fiber wrap look? Thoughts?

You could try spraying it with Plasti-Dip. I sprayed the trailer hitch frame on my Conversion Van back in Oct. and it is still holding up with no issues. Can't beat $5-8 bucks a can! And if you don't like it, you can peel it off with no damage.

"The Chin Spoiler is delivered in a raw urethane that is White in color. It is designed to be painted all Black or color matched to the vehicle depending on your personal preference."

What I would do if I were you is wrap the chin in black 3M vinyl. Then plastidip the chin spoiler. It will have more protection and every few months you can peel off the dip and re-apply to keep it nice. The other option for both is to try to paint them yourself in satin black (matte black). If they don't come out well, you can cover them in plastidip anyways.

First I'd definitely try just plastidipping them and seeing what they look like. That's the cheapest option, if you don't like it, then move up the chain to more expensive options

Got the spoiler off CJ pony parts for 170 bucks. Then bought a 2' x 10' roll of vinyl just in case.

We'll see how it goes.
