Default Oil Change message

Have a 2010 GT, and just had a message pop up says "5% oil life change soon". Considering I only have 8K on the car and change the oil every 3 months (free oil changes for life from the dealership) I'm guessing this is a mileage based message that has to be turned off by the dealer by some secret process. Any ideas, I tried reset, which turns it off until I restart the car. Thanks.

Dang,,,it tells you in your manual........copied from the '10 manual on line...

To reset the oil monitoring system to 100% after each oil change
[approximately 7,500 miles (12,000 km) or six months] perform the
following:
1. Press and release the SETUP
control to display “OIL LIFE =
XXX% HOLD RESET = NEW”.
2. Press and hold the RESET
control for two seconds and release.
Oil life is set to 100% and “OIL LIFE
SET TO 100%” is displayed.
3. While “OIL LIFE SET TO 100%”
is displayed, if a lower oil life start
value is desired, press and release the RESET control to reduce the start
value. Each press of the RESET control reduces the value by 10%.
Note: Oil life start value of 100% equals 7,500 miles (12,000 km) or six
months. For example, setting oil life start value to 60% sets the oil life
start value to 4,500 miles (7,200 km) and 108 days.

The dealership should've reset it to 100%. Sounds like they didn't. Figures. I never use the dealership for anything other than freeby warranty work.

Lol. Op, did you check your oil to make sure they actually changed it. They may have pulled a Jiffy Lube on ya.

Sounds like another dealership that gives you "The Works"...
