Forgive me if I'm wrong but from everything I have read cams don't do squat for these cars....any truth to that?

I forgive you and you are wrong. Cams move your torque curve to the right allowing you to make more torque at higher rpms. Brenspeed did the initial development on the Stage 2 Comp Cam. They have a video. They increased horsepower. It is not BS. There are other products out there that are useless, Ford racing Throttle Body for instance, But the cams work especially when you give them air to work with through a cold air intake, Boss Manifold and Ported Heads. Without the cams, I do not get to 522rwhp.

As to forced induction blowing up engines. The answer is they blow engines more than you think. I used to think it was fairly safe. But I have been educated otherwise. If you go on the SCT dealer forum, you will see several horror stories about FI gone wrong on our cars. With a blower you are only a gallon of bad gas away from detonation. The beauty of the Naturally aspirated build is that it does not have the type of cylinder pressure that can easily lead to catastrophic failure. Blowers are great fun but they do substantially increase your risk. I did not want a blower because i wanted reliability over repeated laps, no extra weight hanging over my axle and no heat problems.

That's why you see NA or Turbos in road racing or endurance.
Consistency is key.
