Default question regarding a wire found

I wish I wish i took a picture but I didn't, but today I was ripping out the remote start a previous owner put in the car, it didn't work so I dumped everything. during my tear down I found a ford part number bypass for the PATS. 2 really thin black wires ran from the bypass module up to the steering column and it appeared like it was glued to the top of the tumbler... does anyone know if that is how the bypass wire is supposed to be run, if so, how the hell does that work?
