Default Car randomly shut off NEED HELP!!!

So today i was on my way home going about 20-25 mph in second gear and wasnt really paying attention. Next thing I know my car shuts off and I lost all engine power. Weird thing though my lights and stereo were still on. Also the check engine, oil and battery lights all came on as well. I pulled to the side of the rode turned my car off and started it back up and everything worked fine. What could have happened? What could be the problem?

Important note no warning lights have been on in the past. Oil was changed 1000 miles ago. Also I installed A JLT Cold air intake with custome bama tune about 2 weeks ago. Could that be the problem? Also just went and looked for a Dtc With my tuner and found nothing.

Please help!

Well #1 flag is that you were in 2nd gear which would lead me to believe you're driving a 5 speed and I would never cruise in 2nd gear so that might have something to do with it.

I blame the tuner, or you stalled it or your car is a liberal.

I don't see how I could have stalled, Im pretty sure I would have heard it lugging but thank you and how would the tuner have done it? And what could I do to fix it?

check your air intake tube. it may not be all the way on the throttle body. this would cause an air leak, and also cause it to cut off.

I'm glad you mentioned installed the CAI. I had ford do a fuel service, and they messed with my CAI and didn't tighten it down properly... causing a leak, and it does just that. Will shut your car off randomly but all the electronics remain. 100% sure that is the cause.

I would think you'd get a CEL if the intake wasn't seated right and you were sucking air downstream of the MAF. But check the intake-to-TB fit anyway. Having the tubing slip has been a known issue.

Its the flugalbinders. Definitely the flugalbinders.

Probably just a fluke with these new drive by wire throttles...sometimes mine bogs a little when just tooling around off idle at low speed.

The other day, the o2 sensors stuck in wide open loop on cold startup which dumped a bunch of gas in the system and overwhelmed the cats...awful stench and of course with the PCM trying to compensate the darn thing sounded like it was a cammed harley. haha.

Point is, stuff happens sometimes. My dealer reflashed my PCM and all is good. Not that you need that, just trying to relate and put you at ease, probably just a fluke.
