Maybe try not holding the handle down, lol...When done filling, let go of the handle, lift it slowly out of the tank but not all the way out, ensure that the gasoline is no longer coming out prior to removal of the nozzle and put it away. Why spend money when 30 seconds makes the fix free? Not my money though, just my

My car didn't do this until after about 18 months of ownership. Now my brand new 2011 e350 does it also. it's so irrditating.

I manually control the handle when filling my 06 GT...I dont have a problem if I keep the flow below the first handle lock... low flow keeps an air way open down the tube...takes a little while but has never failed me yet...

I know there was a TSB and I took it to the dealer while it was under warrenty years ago but they wanted to still charge me 300+ so I told him to stick it.

So is there a fix that I can do to get this thing working, its annoying as heck when its cold as ***** and your standing there messing with this thing and people lookin like what the hell.
My 07 and my dad's 06 have had this problem a few times a year...Doesn't matter the weather. What we figured out is it always happens if we use a pump that doesn't have "breather holes" on the actual gas nozzle itself. Hope this helps!

^ LMAO

I've had it after a few years of ownership. They went from the regular fuel nozzles to the advanced ones, and those click off at the drop of a hat. Some gas stations I have no problems, the others require the 45 degree tilt trick. It's what makes our cars ours. It just means that I'll have to stay vigilant when filling up, checking my surroundings for walkers...

I usually turn the gas nozzle 45° to the left and pump it slow. It's a bite especially when it's cold outside and your hand is FREEZING but it works for me.

I have only had this problem a few times. Turning 45 or 90 degrees usually fixes it.

How can a dealer charge for a warranty TSB? Sounds strange to me!
