6 liters is usually good for the 4.6 which is just about 6.5 qts, i just throw in 7 just bc i dont see a difference in the stick and half a quart isnt going to hurt anything and your going to somehow burn/lose some oil down the line.

^ Just as he says; it's not going to hurt a thing. Don't sweat it. If you put in 9 quarts, then you'd probably have some issues; mainly, oil leaks.
Anything between 6-7 quarts is safe, and I'd also fill to the upper end (top of scale). A full sump means quicker oil pressure on cold starts, and a (slightly) cooler running engine.

The least experienced guy there is the one doing oil changes. Do you really want to trust that guy? It's so simple to change your own oil......do it yourself and have peace of mind. I did my oil and trans fluid this weekend. I know it was done properly.

Mine says 6.......?

OP, were you charged more cause you went over 6qts? When I did oil changes at a certain national chain, they wanted to push the additional fee of over 6qts so they wanted us to put 6.3-6.4 on the workorder. Just food for thought.

It also gives you just a little extra protection against uncovering the pickup in a sustained high-lateral-g corner.

Thats strange ... Why would you bring in your own oil and pay the dealer to change it. I know if a customer comes to us and has there own oil (which is rare) we still charge him full price as if we put our bulk motorcraft synthetic blend oil in either way because its one set price.

And if you knew the manual said 6 qts why would you give the tech 7qts?! Interesting and i'm still gonna say 7 qts works out just fine for my 2010 gt

At least your dealer drained the oil. They didn't drain mine but added 8 qts on top of it. And I ran it for 100 miles. No smoke, no warning, just noticed a loss of power the last 50 miles. Still in negotiations with the dealership.
