Lol
It was a valid point. I had a good laugh and didn't take offense.

On my way to work and driving around at lunch today, no noises other exhaust notes. Must have been a combination of the engine adjusting to the 87 after the tune and then me jumping the gun and going right to the 93.
On that note.... DAMN!!! Its a different driving experience now.
Thanks everyone for the advice.

Onto the next mod...

Maybe you did get some bad gas and your recent fill ups were good...

Either way, good to hear! Can't wait for mine to come!

Gotta say, after FRPP CAI install with tune I have a very similar noise... but I've been running 91P/91P tune and gas for a loooooong time, maybe 8 to 10 fill-ups, and those from multiple gas stations. Can we confirm this is the issue? Sounding like a diesel is a perfect way to describe it, from what I'm hearing on YouTube engine pinging has a more metallic sound.

I've been running the 93/R tune since I started this thread and the only time I hear the diesel noise is at really low RPM's >700. That would make sense because the race tune isn't really made to run at super low RPM's. However, I still have this uneasy sound while accelerating in the lower RPM's but I think its just a noise change from the CAI and race tune, there is no performance impact.
I came from a SC Grand Prix and drove it for 6 years. Bought the GT in Dec, got the mods in Feb. Im not really sure what "normal" sounds are for a modded GT. Its hard to explain but I'm sure anyone can relate. When you drive your car long enough, you know when something isn't right. I do not know anyone in my area who has a mustang so I can't compare. I can't go to the tune shop and say "Hey, is this normal?" because they are 900+ miles away.

As for gas, I've been using BP 93octane. It says on my gas cap that they're recommended.

Who did your tune?
What year mustang do you have?

Good info, I'm looking to do the CAI and tuner and am a novice at turning a wrench. Will take all advice when running the car. This is a great forum...

Tune was a Bama e-mail tune, switched over to 87 street tune today... and the noise seems to have drastically diminished/left completely. This was for an 08 Mustang GT, basically stock aside from the FRPP CAI. After a few fill-ups I'll switch to a 93 performance tune and see if the noise returns, will post results.

For mine it was almost like the engine and ECU needed time to adjust. Keep us posted, good luck!
