13mm flex head ratcheting box wrench and gloves are a must. It's a $15 tool at sears...go buy it now. Getting a ratchet on some of the header nuts is nearly impossible.
You are the MAN that 13mm Flex head ratcheting wrench was key and honestly don't know how you could do the installation without it. Thanks!

Come Sunday I was already sore and tired but I wanted to get these done. The car is so much fun to drive and sounds really great, very happy with the results (but getting there sucked). The hardest part about the installation was the rear bolt on the drivers side, it's one of those 1/16 of a turn IF you can get a wrench on it, just a frustrating location.
Yup, sounds about right. Whoever says it is not that hard must have installed the pypes ones or something similar because the equal length ones suck to put on. I mean I guess it really isn't super difficult, it is just tedious and very time consuming.

Correct, it wasn't a complicated or invasive installation; I had the manifolds off in a matter of 2.5 hours it was putting the darn things on. I did pull all of the studs and used the supplied bolts but still! On top of that I dropped 2 bolts down into the frame and every once in a while I will now here them bouncing around (pulled the motor mounts to put on the polythane ones).

Anyone have an idea of how to get a few bolts out of the frame? figured a large magnet will hopefully help.

Ya get a magnet that will only pick up stuff right on the front of it, Craftsman makes them and it will make it so the magnet won't stick to the frame when you get a side close to it.

Lol....yeah man that tool is a must or you will suffer. The job isn't hard it just takes a long time to get to everything. Stand tall now, your in the "Installed Headers Club". Lol

I dropped a bolt and a socket in the frame too.......never could find them either.

I kept the stock mid pipe, I have a BBK x pipe that I put on for about 2 days and ended up not really enjoying the sound. But that brings up a good question, I want the car to stay legal (California) but can I change to a different "H" pipe that will keep my cats but give me more power?

I will get a sound clip this weekend as well as a few photos, I have yet to take any good photos of my mustang since I have owned it and figure it is about time.

If you keep the stock cats there is no point to swapping out the h-pipe, you won't notice any changes in sound or power. You could get a splice in pro-chamber though.

Was it an off road x or did it have cats on it?
